LDAR’s new department-supported, student-made zine

Practice^(zine) is a forum for investigating the discipline of Landscape Architecture through the lens of RISD LDAR students. As emerging practitioners, what are the most fruitful, vigorous modes of inquiry and making available to us? What does it mean to engage them? And how do they help us tease out the urgent issues and possible solutions that we confront in today’s more-than-human world?

Through a curated selection of process documentation, project presentations and narrative text that is all organized around one theme per issue, and inspired by the interlocking praxis of on-the-ground research and in-the-studio creating, Practice^(zine) offers a kaleidoscopic take on the critical early stages of learning to think through landscape in RISD’s unique ecosystem of science + art + design.

The debut publication is scheduled for Spring 2026 with the issue theme, "The Sea."
